MA gave us the option for a regular one or the REAL ID... for the same price and a bit more pain in the a and time, I just went ahead and upgraded to the REAL. We are required by 2020 to have the REAL-ID, MA res at least.

A passport seems like a better idea, aside from the initial cost difference.

I don't like the mandate and agree chaos might ensue. I also am not sure these new IDs are totally accessible to even the average US citizen. But I digress
