A quonset is very efficient structurally and economically.
The reduced height at the sides might not make it the best volume for a garage, though, depending on the other intended uses, unless one went with a 1.5/2 story height, which might not be allowed, or a much wider geometry than a standard garage width, which might not be feasible. The usable lateral space obviously reduces very radically, quickly, on a standard quonset "unit".
