Just curious if you’ve ridden a bike with mid reach brakes? I’ve had 2: Mr. Pink and Soma Pescadero. And a Surly Steamroller but not going to count that.
I ride in an area with plenty of elevation gain per ride. Braking was subpar on both bikes. They were both sold within a year of purchase. For flat terrain or casual riding, it’d be no issue but I wasn’t a fan for spirited riding. Going back to short reach on my Caad felt like going from worn drum brakes to new discs.
