Thanks. Speaking of couriers….
I attended Richmond, VA’s Bike Yard Sale once. You brought your own tables, grabbed a space on a nice lawn behind an art place, and engaged in naked bartering, buying, selling. Free. Cyclists of all types, grooving on the genre, but also finding often hilarious common ground.

The courier crowd was the hit. By far, the most colorful, irreverent, crude, jovial, unabashedly pragmatic bunch of folks you’d want to meet, knowingly selling the most beat up bike crap I’ve ever seen, without hesitation or purpose of evasion. As they sold completely worthless stuff, they accumulated a stash of “40s,” which appeared to be their primary goal. Secondary was not having to take anything home. I’m guessing there were a dozen couriers and associates, and when I left, they were up to 30 bottles.

My goal was to earn lunch for myself and +1. After we’d made Olive Garden money, we pitched in for a couple of Colt 45’s. At that point, I was forced to leave, so I tossed them a stack of tires and hit the road.

Great day. Thanks for reminding me.
