Some of the early carbon wheels sounded hollow, like a kid's Big Wheel. Newer carbon wheels seem pretty quiet.

I have one set of FSE that I really like, but they're no longer in business. I also have 4 sets of Black Inc. wheels that I really like, except for the internal nipples.
