i haven't read through all the comments, so apologies if this is repetitive, but it seems like the general sentiment here is that folks prefer FedEx largely on the basis of cost, but some reliability/handling factors thrown in. The reason FedEx costs less compared to UPS is that they are virulently anti-union and anti-worker. they fight every union drive and every wage and hour claim. as an attorney i have personal experience with this. while you may not like the teamsters, you can earn a decent living driving a ups truck. I am pretty sure that fedex home delivery drivers are still, after years of litigation, classified as independent contractors and not even benefited employees of the company. so while i understand with how frequently we all ship bikes here that cost is an important factor, that skin comes off someones back. just my 2 cents.
