dont overthink it.

i've done d2r2, from the 100k to the 180k on 32c panaracer paselas a half dozen times and more including some solo unsanctioned trips. before "gravel bikes" were even a thing, 30c michelin jets used to be basically the tire to run.

plenty of folks in the early years did the rides on 28's.

the past few years have seen everything from pure road bikes to fat bikes.

in other words - whatever you show up with - you'll be fine. you may need to adjust speed here and there, but no big deal. d2 is a day to relax and enjoy a day on the bike, dont overthink the tires. run what ya brung.
