Matt Bernard, who took over his father's pork chop business, has passed away. He was 58.

I haven't been on a RAGBRAI for some time, but Mr Porkchop was a must do several times each week. That's sad news, what an icon.

Oh, sucks.
Riding thru his cloud of smoke each day is one of those small but memorable parts of the experience.

This is sad for sure. I got talked into doing RAGBRAI in 2021 and thought it was the most fun I have had on a bike in decades. So I did the next two years and am signed up for this year as well.

Curious what happens to this popular stop. It is indeed always a big stop with lots of activity and the smoke can sometimes be seen a few miles away.

Well that’s no good. We’re planning on doing it this summer as a family trip (first time since 2016). Mr Pork Chop was always a highlight.
