Not a great deal as the value is all in the frame, but an interesting one nonetheless:

This is mine. Happy to cut a deal outside of eBay for a forum member! The 6500 group is pristine, btw :)

I think they're probably original. As I recall, if you were ordering a 3Rensho, you had some build options. Fork crown was one for sure. They look legit to me from here.

The "A" designation in the SN means they were built for US export and iirc Yellow Jersey (and Andy) were the importers.

I wonder what they’ll go for… the red one is a hot mess but the frame looks salvageable.

Dunno, the green one is also a mess a but it's my size and a bit of a grail bike for me so if it doesn't get crazy I might go for it (need to factor in Joe Bell paint though! :) )

Yes, those are original forks. Just unusual to see them on that model of frame.

3Rensho...

Hot mess? I don't think so...

1. Sell off the DuraAce cranks with the Dyna Drive pedals and front derailleur from the red one.

2. Move the cranks and front derailleur from the green one to the red one. That will make the red one all Super Record (except for the seatpost and campy barend shifters).

3. Buy some 7400 series cranks and front derailleur for the green one and now that one is a complete 7400 DuraAce build (except for the seatpost).

Done!

Actually…the more I search, the more I think this is a replica/tribute frame. I have not been able to find any examples of team bikes with TdF lugs. But then again, there are very very few photos of Murray Serotta team bikes online anywhere.

Mine has the same color scheme and a similar, although earlier serial number. The original owner I bought mine from claimed to have raced it on the team. It certainly had plenty of paint chips, chain slap, etc. Have no way to verify the full roster though. At one point I even spoke to someone who said they know Ben and worked at Serotta during the 80's. They were the ones who apparently designed the TdF lugs. Kelly Bedford cut them out. They were done to save weight for mountain stages. Both mine and this one in the ad have shaped non-drive side chainstay, Phinney style.

^ Very very cool! Thanks for sharing the photos.

Anyone know much about Cilo? I have a strange desire for a downtube shifted bike, and these are my size and nearby. Wondered if anybody had an opinion on them.

Earlier ones were made in Switzerland; later made in Italy under subcontractors. If it's in good shape and rides well for you on a test ride, I wouldn't have any reservations.
