Dave cleared the US Patent for the frame design in 2000, which seems much more right to me than 1981, but others would know more definitively.

Yep, it's got the head tube cable guides which were introduced in the late 90's and a head badge that was introduced even later than that.

My impression from the seller is that this is a custom geometry frame that fits mostly like a standard 55 but with a bit of TT slope…

I am not sure I have ever seen a Pegoretti with a sloping top tube. Currently I have a bike being constructed by them and given my geo needs it points to a sloping TT but, they are going with a level TT and adjusting elsewhere for stand over. Have the geo on hand at this time and soon work will begin,.

The seller of the eBay Peg says it has 4cm of slope, FWIW...

i don't see that in the listing, perhaps my error

if it's not in the listing, it is strange not to mention it

Does this look like a 54cm to you fine folks? Thanks, Doug

Some clarification on the geometry from the seller... If everything was 1cm less, I wouldn't have shared ;^)

I'm not necessarily fine, but looks right to me.

You'd think they would show the drive side. ;)

The lacing on that front wheel is wild.

Given that the Peg pictures show the serial number, I'm almost inclined to ask the Bottega if they have the actual geometry. In spite of the drawing I find it hard to believe that a Peg, especially one from 2006, would have a sloping TT. But it's not my size so not worth the effort.

Even allowing for variations in measurement points all the information given re. the most recent EBay Pegoretti indicates more or less 4cm of top tube slope.

I have no idea whether the Reynolds fork is original or not but there’s a centimetre or two in fork crown height adding to the slope, whether intended or otherwise in the system design.

Just compared it to a side view pic of my old 56 cm HC (the one VTCaraco is currently riding).

54 cm on that Porsche Bebe green HC looks right to me. What a lovely bike! And it has the newest C5Ti tubes, too.

Oh, yeah. I am fine… I think.

Ask the seller for the serial number, which indicates the nominal frame size.

CHC54281, so custom and nominally a 54cm... Thanks!
