K.Bedford with new Ultegra 8K

Just outfitted my K.Bedford lugged beauty with Ultegra 8000. First impression is that it gives up VERY little to DA 9100 performance-wise.

8000 group looks damn good too!

the crankset has grown on me

Looks great Jeff - I was having a hard time telling if it was fully black from the promo materials - and from that pic it looks like it is and matches a black frame well. I've got 9100 going on my Moots this week, but R8000 is now looking like the choice for the next project...

beautiful frame..Kelly builds some really great looking bikes and the ride is nothing but great from what I've heard.
they're gonna sell a boatload of those new ultegra groups.can't wait to grab one when they start to discount them a bit and they become more plentiful.

U-8000 is black with silver/grey lettering...the perfect, and I mean PERFECT...match for the black-with-silver/grey-lugs color of the Bedford.

That frame is really nice, but I'm truly digging the 8k group. I didn't think I liked the look when pictures were being posted before its release, but this changes everything. Well done Sir.

What did you end up doing for wheels on there? Seeing it now on my laptop instead of iPhone...man, that is a proper looking bike

Legit!

Some matching black tires would really set off the build.

Record hubs (with Shimano hub body) laced to CXP-33's for now.

Asking out of curiosity: what diameter head tube is that frame, and are those 26.0mm bars?

I had been entertaining the idea of switching my Vanilla to Shimano some time down the road when we had DA 9000. However, I'm feeling like the 9100 and 8000 cranks would overly dominate the frame visually speaking, which is a 1" head tube, 26.0mm bars. It's a 2007 frame, relatively skinny tubes, even when compared to my 2009 Gunnar Crosshairs.

I feel like the current Potenza crank, or the 9000 and 6800 cranks would all be good matches visually. Not super traditional, but that's not me. Not sold at all on the current generation of Shimano.

Beautiful bike Jeff. A KB bike is definitely on my bucket list.

Looking at it, I feel the need to say; "The Raiders". (said in his best Chris Burman voice)

Yep, the perfect ride for a Raiders fan....which I am NOT! :D

Sweet ride! The way it's equipped is a Jeff N trademark.
