1985 Fuji Opus III - The Real Beauty of my Collection
I think this is my nicest looking bike, a classic look. It's also a very sweet rider as the Suntour Superbe Pro stuff works so well. Sexy to use! ;)

Bring that beauty out to Eroica California!

Beautiful bike!
The higher end Fujis were great bikes, beautifully made, good riding. Almost nobody knows about them...
|
oof, that was my first group and a damn fine one. thanks for the memories.
|
pure class
those mid 80s fujis were great bikes! club, team, professional, ops3. love them all!
|
that
is wicked cool |
The pics fail to capture well the metal flake in the paint. It is so beautiful out on the road in the sun. I catch myself looking down and admiring the paint instead of watching where I'm going sometimes, LOL!

One day... |
D@mn sexy bike and build !!!!!!!!! That metal flake paint !!
Any reason for running the saddle nose up higher than the rest of the saddle? |
Good catch. If I remember correctly I shot these pictures after making some changes to the bike and still had that saddle too much nose high. I just looked at it now and it's not that high although it is still higher in the nose than the rear. A lot of the leather saddles like this are more comfortable nose high vs level. The way they give a bit will usually have you leaning forward with too much weight on your hands when level.
I just snapped this. Second bike in, see not to bad. https://pbase.com/jhuddle/image/171236580.jpg |
I remember those days, beautiful bike!!!

Really Nice! ;)
I agree Fuji made some great bikes! There is a book Called Japanese Steel: Classic Bicycle Design from Japan that came out in 2018 I have wanted to get https://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Stee.../dp/0847861708 |
I had one of these and truly wish I could have it back. Sold it to a fellow when I was in college, tried to track it down but he had parted it out.
