Sacramento/Foothills area route advice
 

I know there are at least a few riders in the foothills to the east of Sacramento on here. Can anyone give me some good recommendations on a bike-safe route between somewhere on the east side of Sacramento up to Tahoe? Specific start and finish locations not important. Epic climbing, remoteness, and gravel are expected. The main thing is that it would fully connect to make it in a single epic ride of one or two days. The better sketched out a route I have the fewer excuses I have to doing this before I leave the area.

One of my favorites is around Folsom Lake. I start in Folsom, take Salmon Falls road to Hwy. 49 north to Auburn. Auburn-Folsom road to Douglas Blvd. About 45 miles with two major climbs and lots of little ones.
