just noticed lynskey is having a 20% off sale ....according to the braintrust is it worth pulling the trigger or wait for a better sale ?

They always have a 20% off sale. It is part of their business model.

They make good bikes and if the price is right for you go ahead. There is lots of value to be had. Also, check out Litespeed. They often have some stuff on sale and there is some really good value for your dollar. Production titanium is a competitive world.

About a year ago they had 35% off for maybe a month or six weeks.

From my inbox, it seems they have 20% off every month.

As others have mentioned, 20% is frequent enough it’s practically their standing offer.

They do

- 20% nearly constantly

- 20% plus free upgrades (say, nicer finish, or the anodizing) every few months

- 30-35% once or twice a year


The one thing that maybe makes this 20% more meaningful than others is it’s purported to be the last sale before they raise prices for the new season. So it may not be worth waiting for a better offer by the time you factor in the (unknown) price increase if you’re itching to get a Lynskey....

If you’re just window shopping it’s also worth keeping an eye on their eBay offerings. Sometimes they’ll build too many of a batch and dump the surplus on there

im rather tight with the purse strings so i think im going to hold out for a bigger sale.

last summer i got GR300 on a 30% sale - and am very happy with it. almost 5k miles already

The 30% is coming in the spring if not sooner. Be patient if you can. Like others have said 20% is the norm, 30% is yearly, the 35% are few and far between. Sometimes they will do extra wheel upgrades with the 20% which is a time to act as well.

I wish they would bump tire clearance just a tad to 50mm, not sure id run it but the option would be nice.

I was waiting all fall for 30% off sale but decided to go with 20%. They had the Ti head badge and a finish upgrade offer going also. I asked if I could skip the head badge upgrade and get a even more expensive finish for same price. They of course agreed. You can see my bike posted in the gallery section.
