Thank you one-pal, enjoyed it, looks like one of those machines that can take you anywhere you want to go.

You reminded me of a couple of rides I recorded recently. One is a local group ride I did two Saturdays ago, called Walburg Waltz and the other is just around my immediate neighborhood called Mason Hills where I captured the dramatic sunset that appeared after several days of non-stop raining.

onekgguy 06-28-2015 02:58 PM

Looks really nice, Weisan! A nice group of friends and a beautiful day to ride. What more can one ask for?

Thanks for taking the time to share.

I'm really loving a ride I've been doing lately. It's a 21 mile loop out to Murphy Hanrehan park 6 miles from my home. There are 9 miles of single-track there that challenge this road guy in many ways.

Up until a few years ago I knew nothing about mountain biking or these trails. It's a whole other world of riding and it has me excited to get on my bike in ways I haven't felt for years. I like to say that my fat-bike is like a time-machine. You can't ride it and not feel like you're 15 again.

Shot by my buddy Brad a couple weeks ago. I make an appearance in the rear camera about 50 seconds in, with the black/green kit and the high-vis green heeled Giro shoes. We're chasing down a break on the local early morning hammer ride.

Nice! How long have you had your dashware? I tried to download it last year and it wasn't available for download. I haven't been back to check.

Nicely done Wiesan my friend! Which camera are you using? Also, what coding are you applying to have your video image show up on this forum?

Kevin g

weisan 08-12-2015 08:52 PM

thank you OneK pal. It's the Garmin Virb base model that I got several months ago for $90, turned out to be pretty decent quality. The part I like best is being able to connect to a small size external USB powerpack to extend its battery life to 7+ hours.

Here's the code I used to create the false impression that I have embedded the video. :D
Hope it comes through...I took off the "brackets"

Thanks my friend! I'll try that with my next video. I've been doing more riding than videoing lately but I'll have something to put up before too long.

As far as I know, this is the first mountain bike race ever caught on video. I have a speaking role.

From yesterday's way-too-early-to-be-up-for St Paul Classic Bike Tour. So much fun, in fact, way more fun than a guy my age should be allowed to have!

From Monday afternoon's ride out to the trails at Murphy Hanrehan park with some friends. The trails were a little slick with wet leaves, roots and rocks from a storm a few hours earlier but it only added to the challenge and fun.

I had plans yesterday to load my bike onto my car and head down to the river to ride the trails there but I had an entire afternoon to kill so I left the car out of the equation. I used pedal power instead for 49+ miles on my fat-tire Sarma Shaman.

It was a beautiful day to be on a bike!

Well, I am finally getting around to processing some of the videos I recorded during my Oakland trip. The first one that I just completed last night is the ascent up Mt Diablo.

Enjoy!

I took some video of my rides in the last two days in probably the best riding conditions for the entire year: temperature around 60s, bright sunny and blue sky, clear roads, crisp air...can't really ask for more.

One pal, that's usually what happens when the King's carriage come by, everyone sort of go into recluse. :D

Meh, I dunno...this is an expensive neighborhood with million-dollar houses, it's around noon time, maybe folks are already out on the golf course, or staying home looking over their portfolio... I have no idea, it sure is nice. Just about the only traffic are the construction people, they are still building out the rest of the parcel of land.

Great vids Wei! Thanks for sharing.

Did I detect a left side click or creak on the climb?

Spoke pal, thanks for watching. Indeed you have. It came from the chain rubbing the front derailuer. I am working on it! :p

From Thursday morning's ride. I little nippy out with some frost in places on the trail but a nice morning with little wind.

A couple of recent rides. First; Lakeville to Northfield loop...

http://kevinandtammy.net/images/misc...field_loop.jpg

And from a couple days ago. This ride didn't start out so well because I failed to notice a thin layer of condensation on my newly sealed driveway. Never in the 1000s of times that I've done that lean onto the road in front of my house have I had this happen.

I've been off my fat-bike for a month while it's been in for service. I ditched my carbon rims in favor of some DT Swiss aluminum. I needed something more durable, something that would be a lot less likely to leave me stranded out on the trails in sub zero weather. I've gone tubeless with the new setup.

I also had my RockShox front suspension overhauled so it will function in the bone-chilling temps that will soon be the norm.

Descent of the Col du Sarenne

I made the pilgrimage from Boston to Bourg d'Oisans. A week in the Alps will do wonders for your soul. Galibier, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Alpe d'Huez, Sarenne....it's so worth every penny.

After a long travel day I got to the hotel around 4pm, went out to dinner then to bed early. By 10am on my 1st full day I was on my way up Alpe d'Huez and then over the Sarenne. A 48 mile loop with 5800ft vertical.

Just over the top of the Sarenne I came across a sheep herd (pictured). Here's a video from the 14 mile decent back to Bourg d'Oisans. Hope you like. (GoPro Hero 3 with 'Chesty' mount)

A group of us with fatbikes got together last Sunday for a fun ride along the Minnesota River bottoms. A storm dumped 6 inches of snow on our snow starved trails Monday night so we should be good-to-go for a while.

This video is about 8 years old. What I find amazing about it is that a guy I had never met, but who is now a good friend, hired a camera operator and sound guy and then flew up from L.A. at his own expense to make...a YouTube video about a ride with me.

Charlie, I've seen the video of you guys riding this hill in the early days. Very cool and how nice to have someone do what this filmmaker did by featuring you as he has. You deserve that!

I just want to personally thank you for your vision and pioneering spirit! I didn't discover the absolute blast of mountain biking until 4 years ago and now I'm hooked. I tell people that my fatty is like a time machine because when I hit the trails on it I'm immediately transformed into a 15 year old kid again.

Thank you, sir!

Cool, Onek pal!

Two recent rides:
1) first one includes a lot of climbing, probably too much, coz' my back hurts the next day or two.
https://vimeo.com/151307853

2) this one is kinda longish (15 mins), riding along brushy creek trails on my latest rocknroad build.
https://vimeo.com/151293739

onekgguy 01-10-2016 09:51 PM

Weisan my friend...thanks for the videos. I hope your friend wasn't too badly shaken up by his crash on the downhill.

It looks like your riding friends have fully embraced the flashing white front lights. I should probably as well. It's not getting any easier out there with all of the distracted drivers.

Thanks again for your input to this thread. My wish is that more people would post videos of their rides and give us all a look at what they're experiencing.
