South Lake Tahoe Rental
 

My riding partner will be at South Lake Tahoe in July for 9 days. He would like to find a shop in that area that will rent him a decent road bike rather than having to bring his bike out there. Does anyone know of such a shop or be able to help him out?

Keno - I live in the Lake Tahoe area and work on the north shore of the lake. I know the shops very well on the north shore and in Reno. I'm less familiar with the shops in the South Lake Tahoe area. But it would be very easy for me to get him a good recommendation for Sout Lake Tahoe. What size bike does he use?

I could give him loads of route recommendations. Riding around the lake is not so great because of the traffic and the narrow roads. He should head down to Markleeville - the launch pad of the Death Ride. Monitor Pass and Ebbett's Pass are fantastic. The climb up Mt. Rose highway out of Incline Village is nice too. There's a fair bit of traffic on Mt. Rose but a very nice shoulder. If he's familar with the Tahoe area he'll know all of this.
