Cycling caps for larger heads?

Seems most of the cycling caps are "one size fits most". Unfortunately, it's not a fit for my 7-1/4-3/8 pumpkin. Any ideas?

Rapha Cap comes in a couple sizes. The larger is not huge but much larger than most OSFA caps

Rothera Cycling makes an XL size. I wear a 7 5/8" fitted baseball cap, and this is one of the only brands I can fit comfortably when my hair is grown out.

EDIT: Looks like you have to add a note with your order to get the cap in XL size.

Sorry. Even at 6-3/8”, that’s a mini-pumpkin!

Walz caps offers two sizes and make a ton of wicked nice caps. I own 4-5

Walz offers most of their caps in "large/extra large" size. I have a couple that I find too small, although I'm a 7 5/8 hat size. I just discovered that the also have a "supersize/2x" size.

BTW, They do claim that up to hat size 6 1/2 is "youth/kids".

Good luck with your search!

Chris

A L/XL is 23 ½" – 25" according to their size chart. What is your normal hat size and what size in a Walz?

I measure to just over 60cm, which puts me right on the border on the Walz chart. I have 2 caps that are L/XL. They fit on my head just fine, but the elastic is strong enough that I feel like it is squeezing my head. I think they would feel/fit great if I cut the elastic.

Rothera Cycling can customize your cap for larger heads (my melon can attest to that). Plus, they tend to have cool deals every Tuesday. Check them out on instagram!

I've got custom team Walz caps in XL that fit my 7-3/4 hat size. Walz caps are durable, well made, don't bleed dye, and comfortable in each size range. I have three different models in their standard XL sizing and all fit well. American made, as well.

Measure your cranium in inches and divide by pi. That gives you your American hat size. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's how the hat world is.

Just to add on here that Walz and Rothera are my two "go-to's" for cycling caps...high quality made in the USA etc...

I have more caps than I care to admit, but they all do get worn...

These are well made, last a long time, and fit my largish head (7-1/2 or 7-5/8, depending on the hat). Good stuff.

As an added bonus, you'll also help keep Grant Petersen and his crew off the dole.
