Crust Bikes Romanceur

what is up, heads!? here's my crust bikes romanceur aka a riv with disc brakes aka that famous white guy on instagram: the bike. save for tires and possibly fenders, this bike is pretty much done. I intend to ride this thing mostly on the road hence the sketchy mickey moused champy group going on. the top pulley is a little too close to the 40t cog but I am down to explode that rear derailleur like a true pimp. honestly, the shifting is hella not dialed due to the right internals being pretty worn and you kind of have to babysit the shift before smashing on fools. I really don't care because this is an exercise in flexing on bike chumps with instagram accounts.
as you can see, the light switch/usb wiring harness is kind of an eyesore but the system as a whole is growing on me. there's lots of coverage and it has a hi-beam function! pretty neat. I haven't tried the usb function just yet but I'm sure it will prove useful when I need to charge my gameboy or whatever. I'm not sure if I want or need a front rack on the bike just yet but as far as portage goes, I've got a carradice nelson long-flap (the big-ass one) and a nitto r15 rear rack for maximum sweaters and magazines storage. thanks for looking!

EDIT: if you made it through all that ^^^ garbage, thank you and I'm sorry. I probably write like I speak and in turn write like a total jackass. anyway, many of the parts on this bike were acquired through forum members and I thank you sincerely. it wouldn't be built without your help! I don't have a ton of rides on the bike just yet but I can definitely say it's a smooth-riding bike with potential for great style. thanks again!

I don't think I ever seen a campy derailleur shift a 40T, amazing. Also love that you kept 2x even with a 40T.

Cool bike, the crust guys are killing it. Its impressive how quickly they got this bike on the market and people seem to be very happy with them.

And props for using Deerhead!

I love that deerhead stuff. I blew up a rear derailleur from overuse.

What cassette are you using? Did you have to respace a shimano one for campy 10?

adamhell 12-16-2016 07:23 PM

oh HELL yeah!!! your writing is more entertaining than the bike tho TBH. i want one too. did you have to trade / sell ur 55 for the 58???

<3adam :butt:

thanks for the words, y'all! trotsky- the cassette is one of the upper level cheapo sunrace ten speed wide range cassettes. I seriously love that you don't have to use the wolf toof cassette conversion thing anymore. the spacing is shimano and probably contributes to the half-dialed shifting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
adumbl- I traded the original 55cm for this one. so glad I went with this size. let your pp touch the tt.

this is funny, and a rad bike. man you got them bars way up.

ah blood, I don't have thursday off! heck. wish I could party with yinz.

icepick_trotsky 12-19-2016 11:47 AM

I don't know if that'll ever shift right with that cassette. But I have seen that you can use Campy shifters with a SRAM RD on a Shim/SRAM cassette and it'll work just fine.

Haven't tried it though.
