Firefly headsets

Did everyone see the fancy new Firefly headsets? I just bought a new Chris King but these look slick.

Very nice. Will definitely check that box on the option list when ordering a Firefly someday.

Yes they look slick.

Cane Creek internals and some jeweler makes the top cap and and bottom.

makes me wonder, what is a headset? Somehow I dont think a fancy top cap makes you a headset manufacturer, on the other hand, almost nobody makes their own bearings so I guess they are as much of a headset manufacturer as almost anyone else these days.

Those look nice.

Mine is in the mail. Can’t wait.

I thought that same thing when I purchased a Wolf Tooth "headset" for my Emonda. Which only half worked, but my fault...

Just installed. Need to do something with the di2 junction box though.

ETap will clear up your junction box issue...:)

Do you have to drill a hole in your handlebars?

Lots of handlebars now come pre-drilled.

The classic Paceline solution -- pay for a cannon to kill a mouse.

Or, maybe just elevate your cycling experience. OP was complaining that the junction box was unsightly. I gave him a viable solution. ETap 11 speed can be had for not much more than DI2.

I did not mean that as a personal attack, apologies if you were offended.

I realize that I don't share others' obsession with many details, and the junction box wouldn't bother me, certainly not enough to spend a nontrivial amount of time and money to be rid of (the cost of 11 speed eTap vs Di2 isn't the relevant metric -- time and effort to sell the old and replace, etc.).

But "elevate your cycling experience"? Having a slightly cleaner install doesn't have the slightest impact on my cycling experience. But if it does for you, great, enjoy.
