Yeah, pretty amazing. I think it was one of the effects of the crash though, not the cause.

He's also got a better mechanic gluing his tires. I'm sure his rear must have seen more stress than the failed rider's front!

Is it just me or does it seem that something is going on with that front wheel/tire right before the rider loses his line and bumps the other rider?

Mabey it's the footage quality, but I'm not so sure that a mechanical of some sort didn't cause that crash.
