Life's just a video game for some people.

JEFFTHEROBOT 09-20-2018 05:10 PM

How the hell can she plead not guilty?!?!

CSKeller 09-20-2018 05:31 PM

Crazy, stupid people!

I don't get how she can say she 'was in fear for her life' when she was the person in the 4,000 pound metal cage??

What is with people these days...what happened to common courtesy, respect for others and the golden rule...treat others as you wish to be treated??

I love this: "Pires’ lawyer said, in court, that she feared for her safety after the driver of the scooter began banging on her car"

While scooter driver was probably yelling: "STOP THE CAR AND LET ME GET OFF THE HOOD!!!"

Oh, my.....:crap:

Peter P. 09-20-2018 07:57 PM

While I think Pires' claim of fear is somewhat dubious, I am certain some cyclists would start the beating as soon as the driver stopped.

Road rage can work two ways.

At least she's not permitted to drive until her hearing.

For drivers it's "four wheels good, two wheels bad."

It’s Massachusetts. If it was a car instead of a scooter, it’s likely the lady would have behaved the exact same way. No fault insurance for the win! :)

Dollars to donuts this girl keeps driving.

She was in all likelihood appointed counsel at her arraignment. I can guarantee that the video was not available at that stage of the case. Often times appointed counsel will make representations at the early stages of a case that are never repeated.

FYI - if the prosecutors believed she was a danger to the community, under Mass. law, they could have or would have moved for a dangerousness hearing seeking to have her held without bail for a period of 120 days pending trial. Based on my review of the reporting that did not occur as the judge imposed a driving restriction as a condition of release.
