What was your most recent cycling related purchase?
Mine: I just SCORED a deal on a Rapha Pro team Jacket!!! Gonna look pimptastic with my insulated Pro Team Bibs I'm gonna get this winter! Their pro team line is amazing http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...xr/2806-14.jpg |
In the last 5 minutes I tried to snipe a GXP BB on eBay and lost...and used BIN to buy a different one. Boring.
|
After watching half a dozen Salsa quill stems in the size I need go by at $65 or so on Ebay, I got one for $5 at my local used-bike-stuff store.
No stickers. Which saved me taking them off. |
Nice!! Good patience saved you some good $!
|
2nd K-Edge Garmin bar mount,
2 pkg Cinelli cork wrap (I still like it the best...), 3 Vittoria Tubes, threadless. My favorite.... Not very glamorous, just keeping me on the road... |
Brake and shifter cable and housing set
Clamp to use a braze on FD |
|
Mirror polished TB14s to build up 2 gorgeous 36h 7 speed Athena cassette hubs to complete the Shimano to Campagnolo conversion off my Appel
|
my most recent purchase was an overpriced cheap 10 speed at salvation army for $37-needs tires and tubes.....pictures later

A couple weeks ago, I picked up a fizik saddle bag (because I wanted to have one that wouldn't rub my Ti seatpost, and would accentuate the seatpost curve) and some inexpensive blackburn bottle cages (just can't seem to get behind super expensive cages) that are in a similar finish to the seat post.
When I get some scratch together, I'll be changing out the stem to a Ti stem (probably Moots), and switching to probably grey handlebar wrap, and maybe white hoods. Old pic for reference. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-v...o/IMAG0254.jpg New pic from this morning. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-O...o/IMAG0296.jpg |

awesome. :banana::banana::banana: |
Matt, I have praised your DK many times and always thought that the stem looked "out of place" in your bike. Glad you are thinking of changing it.
|
....and at last some drive side pics. :)
|
A set of H + Plus Son TB14 , they are everything I was hoping they would be.
The wider rim really does give a smoother ride with better traction. http://i43.tinypic.com/307lufb.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/14tauc.jpg |

Couldn't resist this from Vintage Velos.
Where can I get a screaming deal on that Assos jacket? |

You can imagine if I'm buying $12 cages, that I'm not thrilled with spending that much on a stem! But I agree it has to be done to properly complete the build. |
Wheels
TB-14 polished rims with 105 hubs and Soma Highway One bars for my 1997 Hollands with all DA770 Alloy components. will be here tomorrow.
|
Limar Ultralite Plus helmet with mesh in the front vents. I was stung twice on the head this summer from wasps flying into the vents on my Giro Atmos. The mesh in the Limar should keep the little bastards from stinging me in the head again.
|
Matt; Shimano PRO PLT gun metal stem. They go fairly cheap and if you remove the ugly logos you end up with a nice looking " ti" stem.

Edge 200, Aliante Saddle, New Seat Post, 2 new bibshorts, 2 new jerseys
All for Wife/Wifey's rig...After 13 years of marriage (and numerous misfires to get her into the sport), she been bugging me to watch the kids so she can go out with her friends and ride  Money happily/well spent. |
110 Ritchey WCS carbon stem for the new Sachs.
Campy chorus 11 speed & KMC X10SL 10 chains for bikes in for service. |
Left Sram Force shifter, previous one imploded:mad:
|
Nitto water bottle cages for my chapman. Don't work better than the king stainless that were on there but they look cool.
|
FiR rims for an upcoming build.

And I'd jump on another pair of Tour Ceramics if I ever found them. |
For my upcoming Lynskey build:
A roll of black Handlebra 9 speed front derailleur Chain catcher A little Knog light for the front of my Llewellyn And a Vecchio's jersey for whichever bike I happen to be riding :) |
Is that handlebra worth the cost??

I just picked up two bikes and passed them on to my son, a Bianchi Axis and a 1997 Pinarello Vuelta. Wish the Pin fit me and not the kid. I did keep the Chorus Ti seat post though ;)

Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 group with Mavic Ksyrium SLS.
Awesome group on an older Litespeed |
Latest purchase is a Basso Astra frame in blue and red, ready for EPS.
|
Very latest!
Got a new bike this week, and had a good week in the saddle, except for the part when I crashed! So rather than my new bike, my very latest purchase was this:

Last item purchased: Rapha Pro Team bibs by recommendation of this forum. They are not bad but as a long time Assos bib user, Rapha bibs did not significantly alter the experience.
In the pipeline: Castelli Vanilla jersey from the pre-order of Summer 2013. |
