In the last 5 minutes I tried to snipe a GXP BB on eBay and lost...and used BIN to buy a different one. Boring.

cachagua 09-01-2013 11:11 PM

After watching half a dozen Salsa quill stems in the size I need go by at $65 or so on Ebay, I got one for $5 at my local used-bike-stuff store.

No stickers.

Which saved me taking them off.

bianchi10 09-01-2013 11:24 PM

Nice!! Good patience saved you some good $!

OtayBW 09-02-2013 09:21 AM

2nd K-Edge Garmin bar mount,
2 pkg Cinelli cork wrap (I still like it the best...),
3 Vittoria Tubes, threadless. My favorite....

Not very glamorous, just keeping me on the road...

Fishbike 09-02-2013 09:26 AM

Brake and shifter cable and housing set
Clamp to use a braze on FD

A couple weeks ago, I picked up a fizik saddle bag (because I wanted to have one that wouldn't rub my Ti seatpost, and would accentuate the seatpost curve) and some inexpensive blackburn bottle cages (just can't seem to get behind super expensive cages) that are in a similar finish to the seat post.

When I get some scratch together, I'll be changing out the stem to a Ti stem (probably Moots), and switching to probably grey handlebar wrap, and maybe white hoods.

Old pic for reference.

Matt, I have praised your DK many times and always thought that the stem looked "out of place" in your bike. Glad you are thinking of changing it.

vav 09-02-2013 09:47 AM

....and at last some drive side pics. :)

bobswire 09-02-2013 09:48 AM

A set of H + Plus Son TB14 , they are everything I was hoping they would be.
The wider rim really does give a smoother ride with better traction.

Couldn't resist this from Vintage Velos.

Where can I get a screaming deal on that Assos jacket?

Yeah, unfortunately, the Moots stems are on the pricey side... $350 seems to be a bargain for them. Maybe for my birthday in February. Deda had an Alu stem for a while that had a Ti finish, but they don't make it anymore.

You can imagine if I'm buying $12 cages, that I'm not thrilled with spending that much on a stem! But I agree it has to be done to properly complete the build.

Wheels

TB-14 polished rims with 105 hubs and Soma Highway One bars for my 1997 Hollands with all DA770 Alloy components. will be here tomorrow.

Limar Ultralite Plus helmet with mesh in the front vents. I was stung twice on the head this summer from wasps flying into the vents on my Giro Atmos. The mesh in the Limar should keep the little bastards from stinging me in the head again.

vav 09-02-2013 11:16 AM

Matt; Shimano PRO PLT gun metal stem. They go fairly cheap and if you remove the ugly logos you end up with a nice looking " ti" stem.

I'm pretty sure they were are out of business for several years...but it looks like they're back. Sort of. http://www.fir-ruote.it/eng/

And I'd jump on another pair of Tour Ceramics if I ever found them.

Llewellyn 09-02-2013 07:46 PM

For my upcoming Lynskey build:

A roll of black Handlebra
9 speed front derailleur
Chain catcher

A little Knog light for the front of my Llewellyn

And a Vecchio's jersey for whichever bike I happen to be riding :)

bianchi10 09-02-2013 08:09 PM

Is that handlebra worth the cost??

I just picked up two bikes and passed them on to my son, a Bianchi Axis and a 1997 Pinarello Vuelta. Wish the Pin fit me and not the kid. I did keep the Chorus Ti seat post though ;)

Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 group with Mavic Ksyrium SLS.
Awesome group on an older Litespeed

Tokeat 09-03-2013 01:35 AM

Latest purchase is a Basso Astra frame in blue and red, ready for EPS.

ojingoh 09-03-2013 03:06 AM

Very latest!

Got a new bike this week, and had a good week in the saddle, except for the part when I crashed! So rather than my new bike, my very latest purchase was this:

Last item purchased: Rapha Pro Team bibs by recommendation of this forum. They are not bad but as a long time Assos bib user, Rapha bibs did not significantly alter the experience.

In the pipeline: Castelli Vanilla jersey from the pre-order of Summer 2013.
