questions re: Campy Centaur brake caliper arm

1) What does this little screw adjust?

2) When I look down at the brake caliper, I can see that one of the brake shoes is more forward in position then the other one. Also, one brake shoe mounts higher up in the slot than, and the other is mounted lower in the other slot when both are adjusted correctly on the rim. How is this corrected? Or, what is out of adjustment? Brake functionality is fine though, so I don't mind riding it as it is, unless it's a safety issue.

Thanks.

About 3:10 into the video…Shimano brake but same alignment screw.

Also note that the if the centering alignment screw is adjusted too far in or out, the brake can still be centered by rotating the entire caliper on the mounting bolt, but the arms may end up at different heights, requiring the brake shoes to be mounted at different positions in their mounting slots.

As far as why one pad is ahead of the others, sometimes that is just a feature of a particular caliper design. But it can't hurt to double check that one of the brake shoes isn't mounted backwards (pads should slide into the shoes from the rear) and that the pads are fully inserted into the shoes.
