Most Aesthetically Pleasing Frame Size??

3 Attachment(s)
We all ride the size frame that fits, but for a given frame, do you have a 'favorite' size that best represents the 'look' of the frame? As a rider of 60-62cm frames, I sometimes think they do not best reflect the designer's intent.

Does it vary by frame, or could you say '56cm looks best, for example?

I picked a Moots RSL to demonstrate the point: 52cm, 56cm, 60cm. What do you think? Other examples?

Well most of the frames are 55, 56 or 57cm frames that are reviewed and photoed. So you could say that size. Personally, I don't think sloping toptube frames are that attractive. At least not super sloping ones. Some are 8 to 12 degrees which is a lot. I prefer (looks and to ride) ones that are between 3 to 5 degrees. But again, that's me.

I don't know if there's a perfect size, but a few size-related things that look good--my focus is mostly on the TT-HT-DT area:

-head tube should be long enough so that the top and down tubes don't touch
-head tube should be less than about 20cm
-the taller the head tube, the more level the top tube

I like to look for frames that look good in my size. That would be the wee one.

Well, first it has to have a horizontal top tube...

54 to 56. Level top tube or slightly sloping.

The amount of spacers on the steer really changes how a bike looks. To me a stack of spacers makes any bike look worse.

I suspect far too many people set up their bikes to "look pro" to the detriment of proper fit. But, that said, medium frame and level TT looks the best to me. Sad to say, that won't fit me.

Joking of course, 56cm, with a level TT looks perfect to me...and fits me. ;)
