Trek 4.5 carbon fork twisted

Why is the Carbon fork of Trek 4.5 is twisted,,such as the wheel is out of alignment about 1/4 inch. No repair? Owner said never crashed.

Do you mean the fork isn't lined up with the stem? Or the blades are actually twisted relative to the crown?

Blade is twisted. I lined up two piece of straight metal one on brake area and one on the blade where is skewer area.

See the brake pad touching the rim only in the back, there is a gap in front. Rechecked the brake caliper on other fork works fine.

How does the wheel sit in the fork without the brakes installed?

merckx 07-14-2018 08:45 PM

The brake hole was not drilled parallel to midline.

Warranty. How any bike shop could have let that out the door when it was 1st sold is beyond me. Yikes.

Trek QC has been pretty terrible at times. My LeMond Poprad came with an unfaced head tube that was so bad, no headset could be properly adjusted. The clear coat on the paint was so uneven that some of the decals were only partially covered. I bought it used, so I had no grounds to return it to a dealer. I can only imagine what I'd find if I put it on an alignment table and started checking the frame measurements. All this being said, the bike rides fine...

I agree with the shop comment, how could they let someone buy something that screwed up? And a Trek no less..

Are we thinking, misalligned dropout? Mis-drilled brake hole? Or badly toe'd brakes?
You have kinda lost me....
Sorry,
Scott

Look at the pics above. It is the fork blade that are not parallel to each other.
