Natchaug Epic - August 9 - have cheap registration for whoever wants it

Anyone do this last year? Looks like a good 'un.

Natchaug Epic 2.0

After a successful first edition in 2019, we return to Windham County for this 120 km (75 mile) bicycle adventure in New England's "Quiet Corner," where the boundaries of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island converge. An investigation into a geologic crime scene of a retreating glacier, this jagged course features 5,000 feet of elevation gain and 19-dirt/gravel/glacial till sectors. This is a fully supported gravel fondo with four timed segments. Entry includes post-ride hot chili bar and beer. Here are the details:

  • Entry is transferrable, $5 fee applies
  • Total field size limit is 425

  • Route will not be announced until 10 days prior

  • The longest un-paved section is 10.6 miles. The shortest un-paved section is 0.3 miles.
  • Riders will encounter just five sectors in the first half of the route. Fourteen sectors await riders after the rest stop.
  • There is no advance notice given on the location or distances of the timed segments
  • Signage will be posted 500 meters before and at the start and finish of each timed segment
  • Riders are scored based on their cumulative time
  • Final timed segment will carry double value (time/2)

So rather than refund entry fees, they rescheduled the event for Sunday, August 9th. Since that is the weekend of my daughter's birthday, I'm out. However I do have a registration available if anyone wants it. Currently $54, but I'd be happy to let it go for $25 (paypal or Venmo), for which I will also pay the $5 transfer fee.
