Irrational desire to ride a Pinarello Dogma

I have an irrational desire to ride a Pinarello Dogma - 65.1, F8, F10..

57.5 or 59.5

Don't know why - just stumbled on a number of listings and reviews lately - or maybe it's KarlC's InGamba F8 is speaking to me. Could probably blame Lionel too.

I don't have room for one. I'm really picky about used carbon. And I'm not even sure I like the look of them.

But everyone says the handling and ride is the best of the best. So of course I'm intrigued.

That's all.

The white one below with a 80th Annie SR group and Boras would be acceptable.

Makes 2 of us. I have always wanted to try one. I actually like how they look, they look terrible but in a good way and different from everthing else out there. And in the carbon world most bike really look the same. I bet the bike rides great, probably stiff and fast

Practical joke on wheels.

I would be interested to ride one, but oooooffff, they look strange, especially in larger sizes, and I am a carbon race bike and modern frame kinda guy.

Element Cycles in Seattle - test ride?

Since you are in PDX area, why not check in with Elemental Cycles in Redmond and ask if they have a demo in your size? IIRC, they charge $100 for an 24 hour rental. You could even bring along your own saddle and wheelset to help with the comparison?

I don't think this is irrational at all.

Here's a cool place to try one.

It looks like it's melting. Or ripples of water. But I'd love to throw a leg over one to check it out.

A 56 cm F10 has more or less parallel 73s with 43mm of rake and 72mm of BB drop. For all the waviness, that's a road bike's road bike.

I guess I need to weigh in here...

Never wanted to try one as I thought they were weird looking and made in the Far East and all that. Until I saw a used F8 in my size for super cheap on eBay. Was still skeptical, but bought it, built it, rode it and absolutely loved it. I mean, it just worked!

Fit like a glove, super comfy, handles great and just overall amazingly well built. And, this is crazy as I’m not even close to being a weight weenie. Without even trying, it built up to be 16lbs with pedals. This is for a size 59.5.

So, of course I sold it!!!

And then I bought a Dogma K10-S. Same geometry, same high quality with an adjustable soft tail rear suspension, flat mount disc brakes and can handle 28’s easily.

Sold off all my rim brake bikes except my beloved Ottrott. Waiting on a custom No22 disc brake Ti bike.

And....I’m done!!!!!!

Looks like they have a 57.5 F8 to demo - but it's 3 hrs from me..

I think that white one only takes 23s - would be quite a juxtaposition to what I ride most days. Sounds like fun.

FWIW, I bought an F8 on Lionel’s recommendation a few years ago. From the fit/handling/pedaling response perspective I have a hard time imagining anything significantly better, so I have sort of lost interest in other road bikes.
