I have a Rapha Brevet insulated jacket. Love it.

So... for off the bike mostly, get one of those light (not down however) fiber fill jackets from Patagonia all the tech bros wear.. and save 50% vs bike specific stuff..

+1 Down doesn't insulate when it's wet so it would be a poor choice for form fitting cycling jackets so any manufacturer with real world experience will use synthetic insulation instead. If you want a quality down jacket for casual wear check out some of the established outdoor companies, Montbell, Rab, Mountain Hardware, etc.

Endura makes some items that are made with Primaloft - I have their vest which is fantastically warm.

Just got a Fjällräven Raven last night for commuting and nights out with the bike around town - Its really good so far and looks awesome in black!

Won't be for "riding". We'll call it "performance commuting".

Looking at the packabe down jackets since they're lighter and not Michelin Man bulky. The synthetic insulation stuff I've had just died on me a bit sooner than I would have liked.

Walking around with a racing Windstopper jacket isn't actually comfy. The cut isn't meant for upright position. Made the mistake once of going for a run with a cycling jacket - painful.

Just an alternate approach, a down layer.

I pack one of these for when I need a warm layer under my cycling jacket:

3.1 oz and compresses down to almost nothing. Comes in a vest or jacket version. These have been my go to layers under a SAS or Swrve shell for the past decade of MN late fall and winter riding

Bikepackers tend to like down jackets because they are light and very packable plus when you are done riding for the day, you need something warm because you are generally sleeping outside. And they are nice first thing in the morning when it is frosty.

yes. i use a nearly 7 year old ghost whisperer with lots of repair scars but i havent found anything better. to be honest the uniqlo $60 one is comparable

If you can get past the image and the price, this jacket is about as good as it gets. I own one and am looking forward for it the weather to turn cold enough for me to wear it.

Endura Makes something called PrimaLoft

You can find better prices than direct at many places too

Ortovox has wool puffy coats and vests that pack down nicely. I have a vest that's reversible with pockets all over the place. Good colorways too. Steepandcheap/Backcountry has them.

There's also this fleecy/puffy jacket in any color you want as long as it's black https://isadore.com/urban-reversible-jacket

I don't know about you but I don't ride outside below my age. currently, that's 48:fight:
