Is there a silver Campy square taper compact crankset?

Incoming Casati has 53-39 alloy square taper Record. Wondering if there is a similar in compact. Thanks!

Veloce and Centaur CT crankset from like 2005-06. Centaur had Record-level chainrings:

Good Luck!

Due to the limited availability, they're quite sought after and difficult to find - best of luck!

Sugino has silver squared tapper silver compact and medium compact and even triple if you want to go that way.

What I can offer you that is european is a set of Edco triple with the italian matching BB. But doesnt look you are into triples.

Centaur is a good option if you can find one.

In modern campagnolo I have bikes with potenza and the silver cranksets are really nice. The nice about potenza is that the NDS arm is self extract able (sp), you dont need to mess with any weird tool but maybe a large allen socket but those arent expensive at all.

Hope this helps.

If you find a Centaur or Veloce CT, note you will need a different BB (111 instead of 102 mm). Like others have said they are pretty difficult to find. Record/Chorus was available in compact square taper but only in carbon and also very hard to find.

Personally I'd opt for Sugino or Stronglight which looks decent with Campy.

I have a carbon compact square-taper Centaur on my Merckx.

Yep I have the carbon Chorus CT for sale but its in 175mm

Thanks!
That Stronglight looks nice. Ironically I sold off my spare Sugino AT stash :-( Have a triple on the Bob Jackson, using as a double on the Anderson with a Shimano 122.5 BB, and have a 165mm triple on my wife's Casseroll, but none in the parts bin anymore.

I'll ride it when I get it and see if how I use it requires more than swapping to a 13-29 cassette. Would like to stick with Campy if possible.

While in this case, I'd agree that tracking down an older Centaur is the way to go, note of course that rings as well are getting scarce.

As the thread has drifted to third party options, I'd agree with the Sugino suggestion for value and simplicity, and the benefit of using standard 110 rings rather than the proprietary Campag variety.

But of course, there are also TA Carmina, with the beautiful Zephyr rings.

Those older 5 arm Centaur and Veloce are 110mm BCD and maybe Campag rings may be getting scarce but CRs in 110 BCD are easy to find. The ones with hidden arms were the 110/112mm variety. All the square taper, Campag compacts in aluminum were 110mm, 5 arm. UltraTorque, the aluminum compacts became the hidden arm variety.

Thanks for this clarification.
On my various Sugino AT cranks all the chainrings are the TA Zephyr. Very nice looking. The ATs are also quite light and low Q.

You can still get 35/45-48 Miche rings for a Triomphe/Victory crank. I have 35/46 on my Bob Jackson all surface bike.

OtayBW 04-02-2020 08:49 AM

Yep - I bought a compact Centaur alloy here a while back. Hard to find!
