Capsule Wardrobe Recommendations

I'm waiting to simplify my bike kit situation and reduce my closet overlap significantly.

Here's some stuff I have that I like:

Rapha Classic Bibs - Medium
Rapha Brevet Jersey - Medium (arms are bit short), older model
Rapha Pro-Team Jersey - Medium (summer weight)
Ibex Baselayer - Long Sleeve
Pas Normal Gillette - Medium (x2)
Pas Normal Thermal Jacket - Medium

I want to build around that:

2-3 more jerseys
2-3 more bibs
1x leg and arm warmers
1x skull cap
1x short sleeve baselayer

I want to go with high quality stuff, more on the race-fit vs. club-fit side, but not skinsuit tight. And I want everything to work together - black shorts, no crazy colors.

I have a bunch of mismatched and dated classic road kit (Giro, Sportful, Bontrager, Castelli, etc.) and the goal is to replace all of that with simple, functional pieces.

I like Merino. The Rapha Brevet Jersey has been a revelation.

Do I just commit to the #RCC life? Other recommendations?

I currently have shorts and jerseys from these peeps: https://www.lapassione.cc/

Nice cut, fit and quaility. Have some winter tights on the way. My favorite brand at the moment

Other stuff have had: Verge (love the shorts), Voler (ok jerseys and shorts), Assos (did not like the fit of the shorts), PI (meh), Boure (was a fav long ago), Ornot (jersey nice - shorts don't fit my body), Castelli (love the Gabba and Perfertto jerseys)...

That's 39% merino wool, 61% polyester. Try a 100% merino jersey.

I wholeheartedly concur. Preferably one made locally!

I like their merino base layers. I wear them as a jersey seven to eight months out of the year. Real race fit cut. It hides nothing.

Also, for cooler weather, their merino membrane vest is my favorite piece of kit. Looks like something Brando would've worn in the "Wild Ones."

I cannot speak for most of these, but Kucharik is not the Kucharik of old. Fit is not good and craftsmanship is lacking.

Um, yeah, that would be me.

This is the epitome of the shameless plug...

I’ve been using one of Harth’s LS jerseys for the past few Winters...awesome piece of kit and extremely well made.

I use both IBEX and Rapha merino base layers. IMO, the Rapha is the better of the two and is more comfortable. I think that of all the Rapha stuff (jerseys, jackets, bibs etc.), it's arguably the best value and worth the cost. My favorite for cold weather is a turtle neck, LS merino base garment that is really warm. The fit is tight, not constricting.

I like their merino base layers (in all configurations), a lot.

Brother, the way you appreciate finer things, Isadore. seriously

ISADORE

Simple lines, great fit, really good workmanship, stunning color selections, best gloves ive tried, i pretty much only use them now. the Medio and Climbers bibs are amazing, and their long sleeved jerseys are the best i have found.

they also do good projects to help their local community.
