Yes. Great wheels. Have a new pair if you'd like them. Have the Bora Ultra WTO 45 Disc if you want them as well.

I've put about 6k miles on my Bora WTO 45 Discs. Best wheels I've ever owned.

Based largely on the praise the WTO wheels get here and elsewhere, I had Bishop spec rim brake 45's on my recent build. OMG. The wheels are fantastic. Quick to pick up speed, holds onto speed better than any wheel I've ever ridden, inspires me to push harder to see what I can do, good width and honestly they look cool as hell......3,000 miles to date and I just love them. If I had to I'd get another pair in less than a heart beat.

Boras are designed for 23-28 tires, right?

Sorry to have asked a question that required twelve seconds of research to learn that the answer is "yes."

I have the rim brake version. They are an excellent all-round wheel. At first, I was concerned that they may be too deep but My initial concern was wrong.

Mike @ Velocipede convinced me to get the 33s over the 45s for my weight and preferred riding. I love the wheels, as I have mentioned in other posts. Check out this YT video on the subject of 45 vs 33s. At 3:45 one guy on his team gives his reasons for preferring the 33s. That matches my impressions. I don't race and was only concerned with feel and reliability. The Bora WTOs are well worth the money IMO.

If you want more; here is his earlier review of the Bora WTOs in general.

Thanks for the video, I hadn't seen the one comparing the different depths. I went with 33s for my upcoming Bishop. No reason other than I visually prefer the lesser depth wheels. Curious what your weight is and why the 33s were recommended for your particular weight.

I range between 160-165.

I struggled with the same decision and went with 45s. They just arrived and I haven't ridden them yet. BUT.... I've got Enve 3.4s and 4.5s and I might vaguely prefer the 3.4s. I've read the 4.5s are a better all purpose wheelset, and this tilted me towards getting the 45 WTOs. Either is good. Aesthetics is as good (or better) a reason as any other.

I've got a pair of bora one disc 45s on my F8, they are excellent wheels.

WindyCityCy 07-29-2021 11:24 AM

I run Hutchinson 30s (and occasionally Schwalbe Pro Ones) on my Bora WTO 45s.
