NFD: Gunnar Crosshairs
 

Dark Blue Pearl with Charcoal graphics.

The plan is to strip most of the parts from my Litespeed Appalachian, put them on the Crosshairs, and rebuild the Appalachian as more of a road bike.

ETA: I had them add a pump peg and chain hanger to the standard frame.

A ride report is mandatory.

I would be tempted to use the Litespeed with its scratch-proof ti finish off road and ride the lovely Waterford where it is less likely to get scratched. That blue is lovely.

It's a Gunnar Cross Crown fork. The ride report will take a while, as I'm not a great mechanic and don't really enjoy wrenching.

What is "NFD"?

New Frame Day. It's not a complete bike. Not sure what the norm is here, but I've seen NBD, and thought NFD would be more appropriate, although I did have the shop add a headset, stem, and spacers.

Beautiful frame! I've always liked the Crosshairs, both in concept and execution. Yours is one of the best looking Crosshairs I've seen. Since I love wrenching on bikes, please feel free to road trip to CNY for bike assembly!

Enjoy your new Crosshairs! Ride it like it deserves and just touch it up when it needs it. Looks like Gunnar is using a new rear dropout too.

The only thing that bugs me is the graphics/lettering color. On their website "charcoal" has a bit of a bronze tint, hence the gold headset. In real life it's just a basic gray. Oh well, not everyone works from a calibrated monitor.
