Thank you for your service Bob Dole.

I heard this. I disagreed with 90% of what Bob Dole supported or wanted, but I knew that it came for a place of integrity. One of the last willing to talk across the aisle.

A long and fruitful life, he never quit contributing to our country, and helped make it a better place.

RIP Mr Dole. Politics aside, I always felt his first commitment was to life long public service and I respect that a lot. We need more people like him in government service. He also married a Blue Devil which is next best thing to being one.

As an oft-ridiculed fan, I approve of this political message.

Bob Dole was recently described as one of the greatest of the greatest generation.

One of the last of that generation, to boot

A crusty and tough SOB when it it counted, thank you for your service. Without his like, who knows where we'd all be today

I miss the days when you could disagree with a mans politics and still admire the man. RIP Mr. Dole.

joosttx 12-05-2021 07:24 PM

RIP. Thank you.

I just can't believe he outlived Norm Macdonald who did a great parody of the man. Evidently Mr. Dole was pretty cool with it.

:::swoon:::

I don't talk about it much but I have had the mostly fortunate opportunity to meet and spend time around a number of elected officials in my life and Senator Dole was one of my favorites regardless of which side of the aisle he sat on. As has been mentioned he crossed it regularly. RIP sir.
