Hey there everybody. My name is Eric and I build custom wheels. When I'm not busy filling orders, I teach music and take the occasional gig playing the trombone or electric bass.

I consider my philosophy on wheels to be a good balance between being pragmatic and a willingness to push the envelope. I take pride in my work and will always try to find ways of improving what I do.

Looking at my post count, I’m no stranger here. I’ve always did my best to be free with my information whether it’s to my immediate benefit or not. I take just as much enjoyment from teaching someone to build their first set of wheels as I do from selling a set.

The friends I’ve made here have really made this place special to me. I hope to meet many more of you. If you are ever in the area, don’t hesitate to ask me to ride with you.

What I want to know is what is the real color of this bike? Is it blue or purple

ergott 02-15-2013 06:21 PM

This is the most recent build of that bike. The color in the "purple" pic is distorted from the camera phone. It was still pitch black out and that's a fluorescent light hitting it.

I got the fit closer to my Spooky with a 12cm stem, got better fitting fenders, and replaced the front Tektro brake with a Paul Racer center mount. The Tektro was getting slop at the quick release which was effecting braking. Not a good idea with that load on the bike. The front fender line is better than it looks in that photo for some reason.

Here's me testing out the Pacenti rims with my signature GT build.

Ergott Wheels
Best BANG for the buck and a very nice guy to deal with too. I highly endorse Eric and his builds.

Keith A 02-15-2013 06:42 PM

Thanks for the clarification on the color. BTW, do these Pacenti rims come in off-center rear option?

ergott 02-15-2013 06:50 PM

Re: Ergottwheels
None of the people involved in this design are convinced that an offset rear rim is necessary for a good rear wheel. I can get sufficient tension without the offset rim with the right hub choice.

Looks like you're running low on rims there Eric. :)

On a serious note, This guy builds seriously good wheels. I've got a pair I've been riding hard on some awful roads for over a year and they are flawless.

Not that Eric needs an endorsement, but my experience from start to finish went perfectly, and the finished product more than met my expectations.

The only one

that I trust with my wheel builds. I think the difference with Eric is that if you tell him want your want out of your wheel set, he'll make sure that you will get what you want. Cool thing is, he doesn't need my ad.

Rock on Eric.

Another voice in the "Eric is awesome" chorus. I really couldn't be happier with the wheels he built me.

SamIAm 02-17-2013 09:05 AM

I think I am 5 or 6 sets deep in Ergott wheels and can't recommend him highly enough.

Just a thought, if I were a vendor, just to keep it clean, maybe just delete Jack's "This forum sucks post" and the part of my post that calls it out. i'm sure he was just frustrated trying the showcase Eric's work and what better endorsement can you get?

Of course you were famous as the 2nd grade Einstein.

+1 on Eric. As well as a fabulous wheel builder and reliable guy, he can also recommend outstanding music for your listening pleasure.
