650c options

A friend is tired of wearing out the tires she's been running. Serious recreational, but no racer.

Looking for a 650cx23 or 25 Clincher with maybe some puncture protection and folding bead. Gatorskin appears to be wire only-in that size. What else?

Thanks

Michelin Pro3Race are available in 650C. They seem to be very well regarded in the 700C sizes.

I expect it might help if I find out what she's running now... be right back.

Yall still here?

Michelin Ironman with red stripes. She liked the stripes, now she wants to try something different.

Thanks again.

Conti GP4000 will last a little longer.

Cool, that's what she has on her 700c ride.

My 650c came with Kendas, but they are wire bead, as is the Vittoria Rubino I run in the back on the trainer. Otherwise I use Michelin ProRace2's. Vittoria Corsa CX's are available too, but only in 650x20. I think probikekit had/has some Vittoria Diamante Pro Lights in 23mm width for 650 but never tried 'em.

Personally I find my Michelins last longer than GP4000's on my 700c road bike. The GP's I had turned square after around 1000km. They are a big improvement over the GP3000's though. Never tried the chili. And no, I don't overinflate - I ride at 110psi and I'm ~150lbs.

Schwalbe baby!

GP4000 on both my 650c bikes. Good grip & puncture protection I think - seems a good compromise w/ a fairly supple side wall. Foldable - so s kevlar bead. Can't comment on longevity - am pretty light so have yet to wear a tyre out . . .

Yep, she ordered the Conti's. Which is all I've ever really put road miles on. I just get the gatorized version now for less hassle out of what is a non-racing bike.

thanks all.
