I'm only going by what the seller himself said. I tend not to call people I don't know liars. ;) May have been the frameset, I've no real idea. I do know the bike I got from him he built up from a frameset and mechanically it is is great shape despite years of hanging up unused.

He did say he switched from the bike I've got to the Cannondale because he was climbing all the time with it. We are surrounded by several long climbs here that run from Cat 2 to HC. I don't take a standard setup up those either and I'm younger than him, LOL!

He did accept my offer on the one I got from him so someone may be able to work a deal on this if they want it. He can't ride anymore and is moving. Just sharing to help folks out.

Rough translation of the branding is “Old Man”. I need this bike.

A long-time member of the CR list is selling this Bob Jackson for $695: https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...521142468.html (Long Beach, CA).

Quote:

--some new photos coming this afternoon, I cleaned up the cable ends and the bike now has a pair of very nice tires, a pair of 23mm Dugasts that need new base-tape but hold air. Carcasses need coating with latex or similar but are still in good shape. $50 extra if you want the tires. These tires sell new for $125 or 150 EACH.--

Very nice Bob Jackson road. In the style of a fast-rando bike. Pair of eyelets front, two pair of eyelets rear. Presents as very clean. New bar tape, new, correct vintage Campagnolo brake cables. There is some paint wear just under the rear brake cable on the top tube as seen in the pics. Very modest, no oxidation.

Probably dates from late 70s. Campagnolo brakes have some oxidation on chromed bits, nothing too serious. Otherwise, everything presents as extremely clean, low use. Cinelli bars/stem from the 80s. Tubular (sew-up) wheels.

23" center/top seat tube
22.5" center/center top tube
122mm rear spacing
5 speed freewheel
NO PEDALS! Any number of vintage road pedals will serve.

Pick up on Long Beach or I will deliver within a 40 mile radius of Long Beach at $1/mile out-bound. My trip back is free. If I deliver, payment must be in hand first.

I will pack and ship anywhere in CONUS for $195.

57cm Davidson Discovery Bespoke touring gravel road bike - $1,475
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik...520374700.html
this bespoke bike is a feather weight steel multipurpose tourer, custom made in early 80's in Seatle WA, by Bill Davidson whose frame workmanship is just superb. Bike is my personal favorite, and part of my vintage bike collection. it has this amazing butter-smooth and yet lively handling it when you ride it. I took it to Eroica more than once.

Frame’s original finish is in excellent condition. Sugino AT drilled triple crank, Shimano XT\600 drivetrain. Phil wood and American Classic hubs laced to grey mavic open pro clincher rims. Brooks Swift titanium saddle on a nitto stem. Somewhat interesting feature – long reach shimano 600 calipers (you don’t see those often).

57cm frame would work great for a rider 5’9”- 6’1” tall

I have been passionately collecting and restoring bikes for more than 12 years. To see what else I have please check my insta – sfbikemarket

Only a little over an hour to go on this auction of a 58 cm Rivendell Rambouillet, currently at $918: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234651603903. I'd bid on this if I didn't already have a Romulus.

Quote:

Rivendell Rambouillet Bicycle 2006, Metallic Green, 58cm, Good Condition, definitely rode less than 1000 miles.

Original purchaser. I have the original receipt and Rivendell Owner's Manual. Good condition, chips and scratches on top tube. Scratches on fork. Brooks saddle. I'm pretty sure all components are original to when I purchased it, don't think I changed anything out. Plastic fenders.

Original factory paint from Japan was poor, so Rivendell had it painted locally, not sure by whom, but it was a much nicer custom paint job than the factory paint, if i recall correctly.

Feel free to ask questions. It's been a long time since I've been familiar with this bike, and I'm not super knowledgeable, but I'll try to answer as best I can.

[Edited to add:] It sold for $1,250.00. Someone got a great bargain!

^^
I could probably help facilitate that, if needed. As long as the location is accurate.

I've been looking for a ti rim brake bike, and this is the fourth one I've seen in the past 3 or 4 months that has a reach that would fit, but is way too tall. 250 mm headtube!!!

Here's another nice example (size medium) on Facebook in the Las Vegas area:

2017 Specialized Allez Sprint Red Hook Crit Edition, 1 of 300. Edition 58cm. Full Dura Ace 9000 build w/ Dura Ace C24 clinchers, 155mm Power Expert Saddle w/ Ti rails, and Zipp Service Course SL-70 cockpit. I left the steerer tube a bit long in case the next owner wants to raise the bars. I am the original owner and purchased it new and I've ridden it less than 500 miles. I planned on racing with it but got into mtbing and it never gets ridden anymore. Minor scuff on top tube and chips in the clear coat on the rear rim from being hung up, other than that flawless shape.
