Believe Gios is an outlier in that regard. Earlier ones (like my '78) had a chromed fork but everything else was painted, and in subsequent years they changed to a painted fork.

Of course, there were exceptions that had a lot of chrome, like this 'Professional' example: http://www.giostorino.it/images/stor...storino100.pdf

Do people really run an errand bike without brakes? :confused:

i was just talking about this today. I found that back when i rode a fixed gear everywhere, i found it was MUCH easy to carry a huge box or pizza box on the handlebar/on my side, since i didnt need to move my hands to hit the brakes. i know it sounds like not a big deal, but it makes a huge difference.

I must be a chicken. I ride over 7,000 miles a year on fixed gear, but would never even consider riding without at least a front brake in traffic :eek:

The down tube looks massive compared to my Dream. Love the description;

bicycle frame material: other/unknown

frame size: Road bike tires

handlebar type: triathlon

wheel size: other/unknown

The thicker DT’s were usually on the TT designated frames they made within some of their models like the Dream and C50. Usually steeper STA’s.
