S&S Waterford $1000 complete

alot of bike for the money

retropean 06-30-2021 10:31 AM

There's a Serotta CSI on FB Marketplace out of Charlottesville. It was mistakenly listed as an ES1 (haha) but I talked to the owner's daughter this morning and corrected her. It seems to have possibly custom dimensions according to her, and interestingly, had cantilever brakes and wide tires. $495!!!.

Too tall for me!

Agreed, and the Son dyno front wheel is worth nearly half the asking price.

That's a great value, and local to me, though there's nothing on it I particularly want. If anyone wants some or all of it enough to make it worth my while, I could pick it up.

Never seen anything like it. But seeing as she thought it was custom, I could see those additions being possible.

Score!
I put some air in the tires and took it for a spin. Seems well sorted. Will give it a bath, set it up and report back.

Thanks of course for pointing this out!

gbcoupe, your post is almost word for word what I would have posted. I did once own a Miyata that I bought new in 1978, gave it to a co-worker in 1993 after his bike was stolen.

It seems like lately, there has been a glut of really nice 54cm bikes available.
