Giant gravel wheelset question...

Hey folks, my local shop has a couple of Giant gravel bikes in stock in my size.

One is the aluminum Revolt 0, the other the carbon Revolt Advanced 2.

There is about a $1200 (Cad) diff in price.

They both share the same shifters and derailleurs. So aside from carbon frame/post, the advanced comes with the P-X2 wheels, and the Revolt 0 has the S-X2 wheels.
I can't find any info on these online, even on Giants website.

Can anyone speak to the differences in these?

The carbon vs aluminum frame alone really isn't enough for me to justify the 1200 diff on a gravel bike, trying to see if other diffs are worth it.

Thanks!

I have a carbon fiber framed Revolt which I am really enjoying. The stock wheels were porky so I replaced them with HED Emporias and wider tires.

so I looked at the specs.. there is a ton of difference in the spec IMHO.. Sora vs GRX (400/600/810 mix).. that in addition to the carbon frame, plus, what i assume is, better wheels.. if you can swing it, you are probably getting a better bike..

I have a Revolt Advanced 0 and it's pretty awesome!

On the Canadian website, it lists the aluminum Revolt 0 as having:

ShiftersShimano GRX RX-600, 2x11
Front DerailleurShimano GRX RX-810
Rear DerailleurShimano GRX RX-810
BrakesShimano GRX RX-400 hydraulic,

You are comparing the Revolt 0 with the Revolt 2. The OP is referring to the Revolt Advanced 2, which has a much more similar spec to the aforementioned 0.

The new PX-2 wheels are a little heavy but roll really well. SX-2 are very entry level. You turn the pedals and they go fine, but don’t expect any magic.

The Giant CXR-1’s are amazing and an unsung hero of the relatively affordable carbon wheels market.

fair enough.. didn't realize the US and CAD specs would be that different.. doesn't seem so far apart now, other than the frame.. if the ALUXX works for you, go for it!
