Worth restoring ? Schwinn Paramount Frame and fork, Metallic Red, 56cm

At under $100 worth restoring
Schwinn Paramount Frame and fork, Metallic Red, 56cm

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Schwinn-Par...YAAOSwZK5eH0TO

From Waterford
"Hi Charles,

There are two dents in the top tube, one in the middle and one by the lug. The one by the lug looks like it might be matched by one underneath the downtube by the head tube, evidence of a front end collision. You would be as well off to replace the top tube rather than repair the two dents - $180 plus repaint $725 plus Candy Red for another $180. Add $250 to replace the down tube should that also have a dent by the head tube. We have period decals.

Thanks,

Richard Schwinn"

Not sure about that Paramount. The dent at the top tube-seat tube junction makes me wonder what actually happened to that frame, And what else may be lurking oncepaint is off. Might be a nice exercise for somebody looking to build their skills, though.

I don't know what it is, but it doesn't look like a Paramount. The graphics are PDG, but the "Schwinn" lettering is wrong on the seat tube. It also looks like there is front end damage. In that case, the frame is toast. The Schwinn serial numbers are well known, so if someone is interested, they should ask. Finding the serials on the web is straightforward.

Rivendell Longlow, Campagnolo Record - $1000

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bop...058763049.html

997 Rivendell built by Waterford. This was among the first of the Longlow frames, which had slightly lower bottom brackets, longer chainstays, and accepted wider tires than the Road Standard. A mix of Reynolds 753 and 531. The frame has some bubbling in the paint and a slight ding on the non-driveside of the top tube, which explains the low price. Ready for restoration or to ride as is. The paint and overall appearance is still beautiful.

Built for fast rides with a Campy Record 9-speed group. Nitto two-bolt seatpost and Pearl stem. Soma Highway 1 bars. Came Creek Crono wheels, very light, with Challenge Parigi-Roubaix 29mm tires. Can fit up to 35mm+. Saddle and pedals not included. $1,000 firm.

Colnago C59, Size 48, Campagnolo Super Record - $1500

https://images.craigslist.org/00E0E_...m_1200x900.jpg

Original owner.
Unfortunately, very lightly ridden. Less than 2k km.

Built with Campagnolo Super Record and Deda.
Wheels not included.
Pedals not included.
Bartape is now black Fizik.
Arundel cages are on both DT and ST.

Frame spec attached.

Fits like a 50cm.
If you are 5'8 or shorter, this is perfect size.

the owner is willing to do $1575 shipped. I really like the bike but the steerer is cut too short. C59s have pretty short HT to begin with.

Ritchie Travel Road Bike Campy - $1200

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/...047064944.html

I am selling my beautiful Ritchey Break Away travel bike because I am no longer traveling. It is a 56cm with Campagnolo Veloce and Mavic Race wheels. It is in near perfect condition and the tires are new Vittoria folding. The travel case is also included. These bikes have legendary Tom Ritchie engineering and they are even under 20 pounds. When traveling by air, it will check as regular baggage for about $25. The price is $1200 firm.

I definitely don't need another bike, but am really tempted by this. What a great price for a beautiful machine! Wasn't the CDA essentially a tig'd CSI?
