Is this mag unit toast?

Found a crack on this old Tacx mag resistance unit.

Goes across the top, side and one of the webs on the bottom.

Any hope or is there some glue that will be as strong as the plastic?

Doesn't have to be a pretty fix.

Go to Canadian tire and get same JB weld or permatex epoxy for plastics. Super strong and easy to work with.

I tried this one a few months ago on the mini pump bracket but it was still a bit flexy.

I'll try it again since I still have the tube. Maybe load on a bit more.

Surprised to hear that the epoxy is very flexible. I have had the opposite experience with that exact product. They only explanation I can conjure is improper mix ratio or incomplete mixing, both of which would alter the strength and other physical characteristics of the epoxy. The listed bond strength of the product suggests a rigid cure.

Danny,

Get the JB Weld Plastic Bonder.

Same experience using it as Daryl.

Have some here if you need.

Tried it again this morning.

Did it on some foil on a flat surface. It's quite flexible. I was hoping for rigid.

The pic shows me folding it into a "U".

Sent an email to JB Weld. Maybe it's not squeezing out equal parts?
