I hope this means I can buy 45/29 rings for my Chorus subcompact crank.

Nice looking group, wonder how well campy will support these modern groups into the future? Are owners of early campy electronic groups able to get what they need to keep their bikes going?

I have first get Athena EPS and seems things like Interfaces and batteries are still 'out there'..BUT, got it in 2013, still working fine. Had to replace the interface about 5 years go..but all else OK

Not until (if) they bring out a Record or Chorus crank.

Not that I could ever afford it but between the weird cassette options, no rim brakes, ugly rear derailleur, small shift buttons and sramification of the lever shapes, this is a miss to me.

$5k? Is my guess-

Nope, new and improved bcd on the SRWL cranket.

Batteries are different front and rear to get around SRAM patent.

Maybe Paul will do hydro center pulls for the Rando crowd ?:)

How wide is that rear derailleur? It's going to hit all the rocks in the woods :)

Glad to see they went the sram route on several items. Much better gearing options, too

Completely different design it appears. The chorus crank only has one set of bolt holes. The small ring bolts to the large ring.

Campagnolo could choose to update chorus to offer similar ratios without a lot of effort.

If the cassette only goes to 29, then with the 45/29 chainset, that gives a lowest possible gear of 1:1. If that is the case - i.e. no bigger cassettes are coming - I really don't see the logic of the 10t sprocket. By my maths, a 45/29 and 10-29 has marginally less range than the old 50/34 and 11-34...

Can anyone shed any light on this?

It looks lovely, I have to say, but I am struggling to see (looks aside) what this brings to the table that isn't/wasn't already out there.

Love the new crank range of 45x29.

I can imagine that combining that range with Chrous 12-Speed 11-34 will be a killer climber range.

Otherwise, great to see Campy being so modern. I bet that for the customer segment this group set is aimed at, this will be a great fit.

I'm curious as to whether a Super Record 45-29 crankset and 10-25 cassette could be used with a current Chorus 12 speed group.

DA is 'about' $4500...and semi wireless, little carbon or little titanium but...Campagnolo, so gotta throw stones. WHY is a almost entirely aluminum group SO expensive? What a friggin joke.

First blush with pricing..undoutedly it'll come down to 'about' what DA 12s disc is..but....

$6000 for a stainless, mechanical watch?..what a friggin joke.
Get a Seiko!!
$44k for an old tech Ducati? What a friggin joke,
Get a Honda!!

teehee

I don't know if it's paywalled as I'm a subscriber, but this is a detailed and unbiased first ride review:

Lots to digest, including hints at a forthcoming lower tier option...

For $5k I’d rather hunt a NOS 80th Anniversary 11spd SR groupset.

I’m not grouchy. This just really feels like they lost the plot. But I guess that’s what happens when there was no problem to solve other than not having anything new to announce. SR12 was already the best in both versions? So……. why this?

Which plot? The 'peanut gallery' has been clamoring for a wireless Campag group for how long(in spite of wireless does zero in terms of performance compared to a 'wired' group)??

Same for road disc brakes. Same for external BB cups, same for 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s..same for Cassettes rear hubs and index shifting...etc
etc
etc

Many thought shimano 11s MECHANICAL was the epitome of shifting too(including guys like Wayne Stetina), yet...Di2...
