Sounds like a horrendous contrast. I really dislike almost all large-scale private "lawn art". It is often just so hubristic. If one can afford that, and has good taste/care, just donate to Storm King, Chinati, Dia, or some similar place, imo.

I can understand your viewpoint and wouldn't say I'm a fan in general. In this case I find them complementary to the architecture and space, especially since the lower one looks like it could double as a kind of climbing apparatus.

Can you be more specific on location? I'd swing by on a future pass to PV.
I live pretty close to that nondescript apartment building on Roxbury that has the Gehry addition on top (believe it's the "Wosk house"). I really like that juxtaposition and have always been curious about what it's like on the inside.
