That's right, a Confente fixie--only in the republic.

AND did it with me brand spanking new iphone. As I leap into the 20th century.

Alright the pic is on it's side...one step at a time.

Platform pedals, he just came in with it looking for clear chainstay protector altho it's a fixie, so chain won't slap anyway.

Full bike and he had covers on the DT shifter bosses.

I think I just threw up a little bit.

Did you tell the guy it would be more trick if he cut off all the braze ons and only ran a front brake? He might be able to manage a barspin if he stuck a 26" aerospoke on the front.

At least it's not as bad as the photo of a "with it" fixie that Dale Brown posted on the CR list today.

Deceased Father's bike, he still has all the Campagnolo components. Fresh respray. Says he's gonna hang it up..so I wonder why the 'build'.

as for the mario....I think I heard him roll over in the grave when you posted the picture ;)

there is simply so much wrong with what's going on with that build.....

A proper improper Confente:

chuckroast

...at least he wanted a chainstay protector to help preserve the paint.

That poor poor Confente. It’s nice and shiny on the outside, but it’s soul is crying.

If it's owned by one of our local airheaded trustafarians it will probably end up stolen after being left overnight outside of a downtown bar. Boulder PD claims that most of the bikes liberated from this area end up south of the border so Mr Thompson should keep a few extra pesos in his wallet incase he stumbles upon it during one of his tequilla safaris.

Can you post the serial number? To each his own I guess, there weren't that many of those bikes made to begin with.

Guy probably in his late 30s. No tight black pants, goofy, too small wrinkled plaid shirt or whimpy mustache.

This frame building artisan was brought to the USA by Faliero Masi to head up the new Masi factory on October 12, 1973. After some years of managing the Masi operation, Mario struck out on his own. Tragically, at the age of 34, Mario died on March 8, 1979. He had made 135 frames bearing his name. Confente frames are now eagerly sought by bicycling aficionados.
cheers

Confente frames are now eagerly sought by SOME bicycling aficionados.

There, fixed it for you..... There are dozens of US builders that I would rather obtain a frame made by than a Confente. If he had not died so young the hype would not exist. They are few in number and there is a constant "movement" to drive the prices even higher than the over inflated level they are at now.
