For those with the Serotta CDA with sloping geo, does the top portion of the top tube on your frame flatten as it nears the head tube?

Thanks.

Nope......frame may have suffered a frontal impact. Check for a kink under the down tube just behind the head tube.

Frame's never been in an accident. Nothing has fallen on it, and the frame itself has never fallen.

If you mean is the tube ovalized (flatter on top + bottom, or phrased differently wider than it is high), then yes.

Yes, that's what I mean.

If you run your finger over the tube, it feels as if it flattens out. I just wondered if that's how all of the top tubes are on the CdA as they near the head tube.

On mine, which has a sloping TT with carbon seat stays, the TT is indeed slightly ovalized as it approaches the head tube.

Sorry about my earlier reply. I wasnt thinking about the top tube being "squished" side to side to better blend into the head tube.

The tt on my colorado tg is the same way.

A question for CdA owners, has anyone had experience with replacing / repairing the carbon seat stays? I dont foresee needing this anytime soon, just wondering about the process.

Don't repair always replace damaged carbon seat stays. The Serotta Factory can do this.

Did all of these bikes have carbon seat stays or were some steel?

CdAs came in all steel and with carbon stays - it was an option.

I know my response is late, but I will add one observation, which I believe is different than what has been given. I have a 2008 all steel CDA. If you look down at the top tube, from above, moving along the top tube, from the seat tube to the head tube, the diameter of the top tube clearly (to my old eyes, and tape measure) increases. It appears to flatten some, close to the head tube, as others have said, but what is more obvious to me is that the tube's diameter increases. At least that is what it clearly appears to do.

Yep, thanks for that Sandy.
