Give the Schwalbe Durano Plus a try. I ride through a lot of glass and sharp gravel. No prob with flats, so far. Michelin Krylion is also a good choice.

The early Bontrager Hard Case tires were bullet proof but rode like a tank. The newer Bontrager Race X Lite Hardcase have a 120 tpi casing that might ride a little better.

Right now I have Continental Grand Prix 4season 700x25 tires on my Paramount that have been pretty good so far.

If you don't care much about ride quality, you can use thorn resistant tubes in any tire and make it nearly invincible.

25 Gatorskins have really cut down on my flats.

Gatorskins are hard to beat for your use. I'm using some now on my daily rider.....they don't flat and seem to last forever. Krylions are probably good also for your use....believe they are in same category as Gatorskins, but I haven't used them. They are being discontinued, and I see some good deals on them. Thinking about buying some for my daily rider.

For my "Sunday" bike, I prefer something more supple, even if more flat prone and with less life. GP 4's, PR 3's, etc.

The really flat-averse swear by the Armadillo. Everyone else swears at the Armadillo.

PM me... I have some Conti Top Contact 28mm that measure about 25mm with 25-40 miles on em. They retail for like 45 each, they are yours for 50 shipped if you want em.

They are some of the best commuting tires out there. I wanted wider ones so went to the 32mm model

I live in the land of goat heads (puncture vines) and broken bottles. I have not got a flat in a year and a half with thorn resistent tubes and Schwalbe Marathon Plus. I feel the weight accelerating from a stop, but fixing flats would take a lot more time.

Before the marathons were recommended to me I was a zealous missionary for Armadillos. I still use them on my road bike. They average about one flat every 30 rides

Gatorskins get flats every other ride.

This. I got 1.5-2 years out of a set of armadillos on the training bike with one flat. And that one was right at the valve where the rubber wore out from being tweaked / pumped up every day. There was still some tread left when I gave them to a friend for his beater. They do however, ride like $hit.

My son & daughter in-law both commute to work in NY City and swear by Specialized Armadillos.

+1 for Schwalbe Marathon Plus. Heavy, but really tough.
