That bike came out of my LBS.
Remember, here in silicon valley, there is still plenty of extra cash for indulgences
Meh. Looks like a townie version of this. Wonder how many trips around town either of these will actually make? Just because it can be built doesn't mean it should.

My local bike shop has sold not one, but two of the Rohloff-hubbed CoMooter. Two. How annoyed would you be when you found out that you're no longer the only guy in town with one? (My town has ~9000 residents...)

Can't do nothin' a steel bike can't do. Townies in Ti are beyond dumb.
P.S. I have a Ti road bike.

Not so. They'll never rust!

but what about a carbon townie? That beefy bottom bracket ought to help maintain torsional rigidity when shlepping groceries.

I dont agree at all.
What does ti offer on a roadbike that steel doesent then? Its about how much you are willing to spend and personal preferences imo.
I love riding ti regardless of where.

A townie is about utility: lock at market, don't worry, low maintenance.
A commuter is different.
A Ti race bike? Enough said.

Also, Frame Saver and paint are your friend.

Everyone needs a $3000 coffee bike.
I only buy rice crackers and Cohibas.
They can get pretty weighty. You should be worried about frame flex:

No fenders, probably a Cali bike.
Some hammered Ti fenders in red ano would really make that bike pop.
Once you drop 3k on the frame another 1k for fenders is 'eh.

Many many ppl ride more commuting and arrends by bike than they do racing or training on roadbikes, are they restricted to beat up junk? id buy that firefly had i got the cash. Well maybe not that one but similar.
Then again im a loone and lost my common sense along time ago when it comes to bikes. Like most here imo..

For errands or coffee I'd rig up an Xtracycle to my old mtb.
Oh wait, I did that.
Might as well pick up a cord of wood now that I'm caffeinated.

Mr. Shimano.
And Mrs. Common Sense.
They are actually brother and sister, they were separated at birth and they hate each other.

Reason is that some see it as a MOOTs promotion. I do not share the same opinion and if it was not OLDPOTATOE, I would have deferred to the others but with over 4000 posts and few promotions and no adds on MOOTs, which non Dealers can do per the rules. I am siding with the closure only per the thread was not heading in what I call a good direction.
