sounds like a for sure thing

I am surprised after all the hub bub about 11 campy and how it is not necessary that there is not more chat about it

Plus it makes current Di2 and 7900 close to being out of date, yesterdays news

mustbe agood time to go campy 11

Hope you'll be able to put shimano 10s cogsets onto the 'new' shimano 11s freehub.

they have to use the same freehub body

if not, ouch, lots of wheels will not work

It has already been mentioned that the RH flange is farther toward the center and freehub body is wider than the present 10s one, to accomodate the 11 cogs w/o having to make the cogs uber thin along with the chain.

Do you know how much of the Di2 or 7900 can be used with 11s as upgrade? With electronics maybe some of the same components can be reused.

I think the wiring will be comp with the new Ultegra but not current Di...

The New Ultegra plug and play is much better than Dura Ace.

I was not sure f new freehub body was a must.

But I believe campy had more room to work with

I remember reading that campy looked at shortening the spacer width to increase shifting speed and then had left over room, so hey, why not go 11?

I am glad I do not have a big stash of 10 speed shimano cogs

This one goes to 11

campy 11 = shimano 11

what a great move that would be for us end users

Most likely the spacing will be different, but it couldn't amount to much, since space is so limited. FWIW, Campy 11 cogs are the same thickness as Shimano 10.

And Campy is also about to release 11s electric. Go figure.
But the article in the newest Bicycling was cool. They went to Italy and just gushed all over themselves about Campy. How they actually pay their employees and spend so much time worshiping cycling.

Shimano has ignored backward compatibilty before in the Dura Ace line.

I'm wondering if existing 10 speed Shimano wheels will be forward compatible with the new 11 stuff? Sounds like that's a no but just wanted to confirm.

I've purchased a few pairs of wheels this year and am wondering if they are going to be worth less with the new announcement. Also, thinking of purchasing some new custom wheels and wondering the same. Any thoughts?
