Looking for a list of 23mm wide rims. I am looking for a 23mm clincher to build that is light, but has a classic / box section look. A23s have good reviews, but I just cant get into the way they look. Unfortunately, they seem to be the lightest - at least that I know of.

Other 23mm rim suggestions?

How about a post, if that PM was a list of rims? Wheelbuilders would like to know.

I do like A-23, see the HSon ones(altho I can't get them), etc.

Can't speak to the A23's, but really do like the Hed Belgiums I just built recently.

I do think they ride noticeably better than a narrower rim.

The Hed C2 gets my vote and are coming in at the same weight as current A23s and some are lighter. They aren't a true box section profile, but they are the highest quality by far. Average rim weight is about 456g.

The Velocity Synergy is a nice, wide rim choice, but heavy.

I haven't worked with the DT TK rim or the Mavic equivilent, but they do make box section rims.

I too would like to know what KP had under his sleeve.

Gran Bois rims, polished, side walls not pre worn, ie not machined and
no giant logos.

scroll down to rims.
I've built one, straight rim, no problems.

25 grams heavier for the Synergy, not what I'd describe as 'heavy'. A-23s are 'light'.

Major Tom is the tubie version of A-23(or is the A23 the clincher version of MT), both nice rims.

Built a few DT, typical excellent quality and of course, Mavic A719, etc..decent rims.

Looks pinned only.

The GB rims are pinned.
The make good faux vintage rims, no 40 hole available for Brit bikes.

Are the H-Sons welded ?

The last bunch of Heds I weighed were all 450g or less (only 2 450g). The Last A23s were between 450g and 460g.

Synergy rims are around 500g. The 650b Synergy rims are about 475g.

I haven't weighed TK540 rims, but DT is usually pretty close to their estimated rim weights.

I am currently riding around on a pair of DT TK7.1 (now renamed as the TK540). Seller weighed them and said they were about 535g each. I have them built on the OS alloy axle centaur hubs/32/3x/brass. They feel very solid and heavy. Probably too stiff for anyone under 200lb. Fine for my fat ass, they are a nice set of wheels - good for a clyde.

I do like the look of the HED Belgium rims, but they're heavy, made in china and $120 retail? I'd rather suffer the aesthetics of the A23. Lighter, cheaper, and not Chinese made. Same goes for the h+son (heavy, chinese....)

Euro Asia still has campy Delta XL Strada rims, but they are $150/rim wholesale cost. To much for mere mortals like me.

Mini gram differences is my point about a 500g rim being 'heavy' when compared to a 460g rim.

The A-23 I have here range from 443g to 456g.
