there seems to be a phase of riders winning the race and never repeating the win and then a phase of riders winning for consecutive years after working out how to win it. I am sure that in the next 5-10 years we will see the same thing and then another dominant rider will come through. This seems to be the pattern in the Tdf through the years. Whether anyone will win it 7 times is debatable, though ever more feasible if Armstrong's strategy (of concentrating on the TdF) is employed.
